Real Estate Background

Margaret Goedeke has been a real estate broker in California for 20 years.  She has owned her own real estate company and held numerous leadership positions within organized real estate.  Goedeke has been a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the California Association of Realtors (CAR), the Newport Beach Association and the Orange County Commercial Association of Realtors.  She served on countless real estate committees at all levels.  NAR committees include:  Research and Economics (of which she was Chair and Vice Chair), the Commercial Board Leadership Forum (which she Chaired), Commercial Education, Group Investment (Syndication), the Commercial-Investment Committee and Real Estate Finance.  In addition, some of the CAR committees include Professional Standards, Long Range Planning and Finance, Local Government Relations, Education, and Standard Forms.  Goedeke was a long-time member of the Board of Directors for CAR and NAR, as well as the local Associations.  She was Vice Chairman of Education at CAR; the CAR Regional Director of Orange County, CA, Region 32; the 1993 President of the Newport-Mesa Association of Realtors; the 1989 and 1990 President of the Investment Division of that Association; the 1994 Secretary, and the 1995 President of the Orange County Commercial Association of Realtors; plus countless other positions.

Real Estate Educator

Goedeke taught Orientation to new Board members for the local real estate Association.  She was co-developer of a real estate course on cultural diversity that won the CAR 1989 Education Leadership Award for "jumbo" boards.  Margaret holds a College Certificate in Real Estate and was a long-time member of CREEA (California Real Estate Education Association) and the Coastline Community College Real Estate Advisory Association, plus several other real estate and education associations.  She was a long-time member, and the Chair, of Education for her local board; the 32nd Region in Orange County, CA; and the Vice Chair of Education for the California Association of Realtors.  Margaret is a Graduate, Realtors Institute (GRI) and has taken residential specialist real estate courses.  She was the 1988 recipient of the CCIM scholarship ("Certified Commercial-Investment Member" of the Commercial-Investment Real Estate Institute of NAR) and completed all the upper division CCIM courses.  Goedeke also had training in commercial property management from IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management) and has worked in property management for many years.

In addition to real estate education,  Margaret was an instructional associate at Orange Coast College for English, Spelling, Reading and Composition, Psychology and other subjects.

Business Brokerage

In addition to commercial and residential real estate, Goedeke has been a business broker in Orange County, California.  She is accomplished in business appraisal, accounting and financial records, and various accounting methods.  Not only has she represented buyers and sellers of businesses, she has been a business consultant to entrepreneurs and has written business plans for new and seasoned business owners.  Margaret is experienced not only in business appraisal and accounting, but also sales, management, inventory control, space planning, advertising and display.

Margaret was a member of the IBBA (International Business Brokers Association); SBOA (Society of Business Opportunity Appraisers); ASA (American Society of Appraisers) and the IBA (Institute of Business Appraisers).
